MEV.3. Multiplier Event in Spain
On May 16, 2024, the HEDforALL project participated in the Global Accessibility Awareness Day at the University of Alicante, focusing on the importance of digital accessibility in higher education. The event, organized by the University’s Digital Accessibility Unit, provided a platform for sharing best practices, challenges, and innovations related to accessibility in digital learning environments.

- Presentations: The event began with an overview of key milestones in digital accessibility at the University of Alicante, led by Rafael Molina Carmona (Vice-Rector for Digital Transformation) and José María Fernández (Head of the Digital Accessibility Unit). The speakers emphasized the university’s commitment to ensuring that digital transformation is inclusive and accessible to all.

- Vicent Sanchis, an expert in digital accessibility for individuals with low vision, shared insights into how accessibility technologies can improve the digital experience for people with visual impairments.
- Alena Nikolaeva, a product designer at GitHub Copilot, discussed practical strategies for making digital products more accessible to a broader audience.
- HEDforALL Project: Rafael Molina, alongside José María Fernández and Cristina Palomares, presented the progress and outcomes of the HEDforALL project, highlighting the development of accessible educational materials and methodologies for Distance Education (DE). The presentation underscored the importance of supporting students with disabilities through innovative digital solutions and inclusive teaching practices.
